Harford’s Messiest Closet Makeover
At the end of January 2011, this Bel Air family was picked for Harford’s Messiest Closet. Maybe not the contest you would want to win, but winning gave them 8 hours of hands on organizing time with a professional organizer, and access to space that had been overwhelmed with clutter.
When we arrived, the family was stuck with boxes, trash, items that were no longer needed, and shelves that were overloaded and disorganized. They wanted room for a freezer, but the only place it could possibly fit was in this closet, which couldn’t happen without major changes.
Without purchasing any additional organizing products, a Sappari Solutions organizer, Michelle Twining, was able to revamp this closet. The first step was to purge by donating, recycling, and throwing out items that were no longer being used, or were broken. She then used the newly emptied bins to contain the items the family wished to keep. Enough space was freed that a freezer can now fit in the closet, and what they kept is easily accessible and labeled for quick retrieval.
